The community of Prata (Pará) provides the same territory of coats, one that stopped working hospital, school and family residences. Leprosy is a curable disease-a fact not always apparent when the person who has contracted to face the anxiety and fear generated by the mere word "leprosy." OPAS-Brasil is part of an intensive effort in the country to detect, treat, cure and eliminate leprosy. This involves mobilizing communities to educate and remove the stigma, and project a positive image and human persons receiving treatment or were cured (eg, Nina 1 and individuals in the poster to spread the message that people it can live a normal healthy life after receiving medical attention). These 30 pictures reflect this new strategy, accompanied by some useful clinical photographs to train health personnel in the identification of symptoms.
