In a suburb located about three miles north of the capital of Tibet (Lhasa), on the slopes of the hill that bears the name of Tatipu, we find the magnificent monastery of Sera and Drepung near the Ganden are three of most famous religious sites in the city. The monastery is dedicated to the cult Gelupta (the order in the yellow hat), a branch of Tibetan Buddhism founded by Tsong Khapa.
