One family making a trek over the lava of volcano Piton de la Fournaise. It is the only active volcano on the island. Its eruptions attract thousands of visitors. The lava flows extend up the east coast causing a unique landscape. In the volcano, when not active, you can also hike. There are several marked routes. The access road to the volcano worth it. We cross landscapes full of vegetation adapted to the altitude and humidity conditions (constant mist) that is in this area. You can see several craters and a completely desert called Plaine des Sables at which you reach after crossing the Pas des Sables where it is worth stopping to admire the scenery. Before visiting the volcano I recommend you do a stop in the village of Bourg-Murat where lies the Maison du Volcan, a museum which explains the formation of the island, volcanic activity and major eruptions throughout history Reunion. Project a very interesting visual.
