Thousands of buffalo and wildebeest Masai Mara newcomers to graze on the savannah, mientrasleopardos and lions lurk . The park parks opened in 1961 , is located west of the Rift Valley and is a natural extension of the Serengeti plains in Tanzania. The winding , dark waters of the Mara River crossing the reserve from north to south to continue their journey west to Lake Victoria and in Tanzanian land . The animals are completely free and completely ignore the borders drawn on paper , whether the policies themselves as protected area , so it is not surprising to find zebras , monkeys and gazelles grazing near the road, 50 kilometers before reaching the park. Spectacular wildlife park One of the attractions of the Mara is undoubtedly the spectacular migration of over a million wildebeest and zebras hundred thousand each year during the months of July and August, moving in search of better pastures from Serengeti to return to Tanzania to October. In this park , wildlife is assured. The lion is found in large herds and not difficult to find leopards and cheetahs . Elephants , buffaloes , zebras , giraffes , baboons , hippos , antelopes , gazelles , impalas , topi and wildebeest abound. It is more difficult to observe the rhinos , as there are only 37 copies throughout the reserve.
