Around the Jemaa el Fna are the most impressive souks well as some interesting monumental buildings. This area is not, strictly speaking, the geographical center of the medina, but a strategic point from which you can start any visit. All major streets of the old town (if any of the tracks can be called that), lead or come to this open space. It is also a reference point for those who have difficulty bearings. A high sense of loss, no more to say Jemaa el Fna to some villager indicate the nearest road. This area of town is the busiest and although the medina is not dangerous around the large square is possible to walk late at night without problems.
